Hello everyone... I know it is not ideal to use a vintage Frigidaire washer for a daily driver, but if one were to be used which would be better... A Rollermatic or Unimatic.. Thinking about trading my Rollermatic for a Unimatic. I have never experienced a Unimatic in person before and have always wanted one, so what do you all think??

Rollermatic VS Unimatic

You are probably going to get a wide range of differences of opinion on this one. I have had both and in my opinion I would choose the Unimatic. They both have advantages and disadvantages - The Unimatic is a real work horse but you will have the tangling problem with things like jeans & long sleeve shirts. If loaded properly you don't get the tangling issue. Of course the spin is the great part of the Unimatic. This is just one Frigidaire lover's opinion. I hope this will start a good amount of discussion.

Best Washer For Daily Use

Sadly neither one is a great idea for a daily driver, but the late 60s washer is going to be much easier to keep running than a 50s washer.

Automatic washers were not very well perfected in the mid 50s, and inspite of their high cost and cheap repair cost [ an in home service call only cost $6 ] very few gave even ten years of service before their owners junked them.

Another way to look at this question would be like comparing a 1955 Chrysler 300 to a 1967 Chrysler 300, you would have a much more difficult time keeping the 55 Chrysler running on a daily basis than the 67.
