Oreck Orbiter 550 Floor Machine

Doing some Fall cleaning and brought out a toy I had not used in a while. The floors are leather floor tiles and I put a lambskin buffing pad on the machine and had fun shining things up.

Yes the Oreck is a powerful little polisher.

Leather?? I didn't know they made leather floor tiles, who'd a thunk.

Yep Harley, they are.leather tiles. Very durable finish and feels great when barefoot. I can bring it up to a really beautiful shine or leave it as I did with a rich softer looking finish.. The upkeep is easy. Years ago when I had them installed it was recommended to put down several coats of a high quality paste wax. Eight years later I damp mop and about once a year I buff the freshly cleaned floor. Have never added additional wax. Regarding the leather, since leather is on the bottom of our shoes it is a very durable finish.

That Orbiter floor machine is kind of fun to use. It has an orbiting motion that will not create swirl marks like some machines will do. It also allows for a close baseboard polish. It apparently takes some juice because it will make the lights jump when I switch it on.
