Help Support AutomaticWasher.org:

Hey Veg!

You have got some pretty cool stuff there!Love the TV! I'm not to fond of the hair stuff though! Reminds me of work! "Roux" yuck!I don't do any blue-hairs. I seen that and about died! I've got some things that you might want though!I'll send ya an email. Like the games too! Got any bashful blonde in that collection?

Hey bethann!
You do hair? I knew there was something I liked about you! Nothing, and I mean NOTHING is more important than hair!I've got some Lucky Copper and White Minx and Gilded Lily and Chocolate Kiss...bunch of others. No Pretty Beaver, though! Can you believe they actually named a color that?
Oh, and I have doubles of a lot of the hair stuff, couldyoudie? Okay, so I'm compulsive!
Maybe I'll take some pictures of my radios. And my PINK canisters. And my old Christmas catalogs. And my comic books. And my watches. And my advertising stuff...

MAN I have a lot of crap!

Cool 1950's furnishing!!

Thanks for sharing the cool stuff. I have a friend that has some blond end tables,in weird shapes to boot.Years ago we used to make fun of all that stuff. Now it brings some big $$$. Do you think in twenty years people will want the dark heavy looking Mediterranean furniture, and green and gold shag carpet?? (YUK I hope not) Got any Brill Cream products? I remember,"a little dab will do ya" and "it's not that greasy kid stuff"
Thanks,
Rick

I love all the hair and grooming stuff displayed - it's amazing anyone survived through the "better living through chemicals" era, I'll bet some of those home perms could strip more than a little hair from a tender scalp!

Pretty Beaver!! Sounds like drag queen's backup singers - "Mona Pleasure and the Pretty Beavers!"

Frontload: That's a Delmonico Solid State AM/FM stereo. From the years when Solid State was a big deal! I got it a couple of months ago with some problems, but fixed 'em up and she works fine. Just the thing to listen to the Patti Page Christmas album!
Kenny: No, that's a scene from...can't remember the title, but it's one of those funky old films from the Prelinger Archives. I don't have it bookmarked here, but I know someone knows the URL. Archive.org? Something like that. They have LOTS of really fun stuff.
My favorite of late is "Boys Beware", a 1960-ish film warning teenage boys about the Homosexual Menace. "Ralph has a disease. It's not a disease you can see, like smallpox. It's a disease of the mind. Ralph is a ho-mo-sexual." Apparently, in 1960, homosexuals were rapists, kidnapers and murderers. Also hung out in public restrooms!

Prelinger Archives

Here's the link to the Prelinger Archives. My favourites are: "Mother takes a holiday' (2 parts), 'Consumers want to know', 'Shopping can be fun' (I knew that!), 'A Step-Saving Kitchen (everybody who plans a new kitchen should see that) and last but not least 'A word to the wives' about 'a dream kitchen to make things easier'. A real must see!!!

Lotsa cool things,Veggie! Like the toys, I just found a 1972 Clue game. TV and Hi-Fis are awsome! Bet the rest of your house is too!

Does anyone remember "Mr. Machine"? He was a clear color and you could see all the gears that made his legs, arms, and mouth move when you wound him up. You could also take it apart and reassemble him too! There is a GREAT commercial I have on VHS.......if I could only find it!!!!

My favorite is the Talking Show Projector. Had one of those at the tender age of 6. I am trying to remember some of the titles it came with.

I also "dug" the Dippity-Do (which was popular when people still said, "Can you dig it?"). I used to be drawn to the color, but when I would open the lid, there was that wonderful smell.

Coldspot: If you look in the second picture between Barbie and the Suzy Homemaker SuperOven, you'll see Mr. Machine. He's not the original one, but still quite cool.

Mr. Machine

Oh, yes, I well remember Mr. Machine, my cousin had one. Anyone ever have a "Think-A-Tron" that used little punched hole cards?

Mr. Kelly's Car Wash

When I was a kid, I would have killed for one of those! I still have the commercial on tape somewhere.

Oh yeah. That's another one of my collections...
