they call it turquoise, which I can't stand, although now its available all in white, I usually switch out the top corkscrew for a white one, since thats all I see while operating the machine.....

take note, the bigger base covers the bottom holes....

Dave:

Does the motor have two speeds to it? It runs fine at normal agitation speeds, but no low speed at all. I would think that if it was a control panel problem it would probably still do the Knits/Gentle if not the slow agitation at the end of the normal cycle. But it doesn't do either.

One thing the trans was doing about a year ago was making a clicking sound during agitation. It no longer makes that sound and we have no low speed agitation.

Allen, the motor is 2-speed. The transmission has nothing to do with speeds, either agitation or spin. It's not a clutch system like GE. Speed is determined via the motor RPM. You have an electrical problem somewhere with getting power to the low-speed winding of the motor (or a bad motor), not a mechanical problem.

ahh yeah, I have seen that vid many times!

Now I know that is the top speed for a KitchenAid machine, but (just so i'm not confused) were you saying you also had this agitator performing with Whirlpool's top speed?

YES.....actually I used it in a Kenmore Limited with a 3 speed.....always on the HeavyDuty cycle, fast wash and spin.....the smaller fin DAplus didn't seem to move the load the way I wanted it to......and on gentle, nothing moved, unless you loaded the machine 1/3 with clothes on a full water level....

in the newer models of Kenmores, Normal was medium speed with a fast spin....this agitator was perfect for that, and quieted the machine down to nothing....

The turquoise part number is 3349583 for the base and 3349582 for the auger.

White full-assembly substitution is 3950579.

There's a used turquoise full agitator on eBay listed under 3349583 and 3950579.

I don't think they ever came in pink.........I just like the white on white on white.....seems so clean and crisp.......

MrEric has an added splash shield to his KitchenAid, transferred from a Calypso, a nice trim addition.....wonder if I can talk him into posting a pic of it....

not to mention he has the matching dryer with the oven door window, and interior light that comes on during use.......could not imagine this machine without it

just wish these machines came with a top work light....

we like little upgrades....

Thanks DADoES for the part numbers, I may want to order a full white one for the heck of it.....

Hey Guys

Here's an old early mornin' video of the Big AQUA (that's for you Bob) Kitchen Aid agitator in a Whirlpool on high speed. It is pretty fast. Enjoy. Please excuse the Maytag Wringer interruption.

The folks had a lower end 2 speed with black tub from 88/89, that was a great washer took abuse and never quit. Still have the dryer, washer rusted out in 02.
