One thing that might be handy is a "Back To Index" button at the bottom of the thread, so one doesn't have to scroll all the way back to the top.

Question about auto-magic-log-in?

Robert,
I love the new main page of the site! It looks so easy and complete!
Question
At home on my windows computer, it is not saving my 7 day log in
At work on my Mac, it is working correct
Am I doing something wrong
It is no big deal, but I love that feature of the automatic log in
Thanks again for all of your hard work on the site
Brent

Strange

Hi Brent, thanks! Glad you enjoying the new home page. I'm not quite done yet, but I'm well on my way for all the changes I want to make<br
Automatic Login is working fine for me both here at home as well as at work. What exactly happens at home, does it work for a day or only until you close your browser??? Can you give me very precise details of exactly what happens??

Hello there

Robert,
It did work for the day.
It was this morning and last night when I noticed that I was not logged in.
I don't have the cookie thing disabled
To be precise, all that it did was let me type here, and when I hit preview message, it said that I was not logged in.
At work, it has been fine.
I will turn on my computer at home this evening, and see if it does it again.
I will post, and let you know
Thanks Robert

Hi Louis, yes Automatic Login saves a cookie on your computer with your username, location and wallpaper choice, it set to expire seven days after it is set.

It worked great Robert!

Robert
Got home and started my computer. Responded to a post, and it worked fine
I don't know if I did something different last night. Don't think I did.
Glad it is working well though. Might have been something to do with the storm that came through Atlanta? (Just kidding
I love this feature. Thanks for it
Sorry, but I guess I should have waited before I posted about thinking I had an issue
Take care
Brent

#1 with a Kenmore(!) being the keyword I used to see where it all started, in a manner of speaking.
What thread first mentioned Maytag? #2.

And while i’m here I want to compliment the bulider(s) of this site, specifically the way in which it uploads pictures so fast!
No. Other. Website. Beats. It. Hands. Down.

Wow!  We just passed the 80K mark nearly 15 years later.  That's pushing an average of 5,500 per year/450 per month.  This has been a busy little corner of the internet, and for good reason!

Thanks Robert for creating this place to share information and advice on almost anything imaginable.

This Thread is Vintage!

Thanks guys! I can't believe this thread came back from 15 years ago and over one million posts later. Wow a lot has changed in that time! Posting pictures in the threads was so new and exciting back then lol.
