Our New Miele T8423C Condensor Dryer

Well we got the matching W3725 washer to this a couple of months back when they were doing a special deal on Miele machines, very rare for dealers to do this so we took the opportunity. Washer is fabulous and does and awesome job, in the shortest possible amount of time.
Last week we noticed the dealer where we bought this washer from was doing another special deal, this time on dryers. So after much umming and arring by my parents (they don't really believe in dryers), they said ok and got the matching dryer to the washer. We now plan on using it more often than the clothesline as mum dried one load in it and was converted.
It really does a nice job, very quiet too. Only thing is it leaves a faint 'new rubber and plastic' odour on the clothes which i am sure will fade over time.

Congratulations Matty, I've got a T4888C. We got ours when Miele were running out the old 5.5kg Models. They sent us a letter reminding us that we had a W2888 and that we could buy the matching T4888C for $1500 which was less than half RRP. Michael jumped on the deal because they matched, all I wanted was a F&P TL dryer.

The downside is, that burnt rubbery plastic smell never goes away, I run mine with the condensor removed these days and that helps lots. With the condensor out the Drying time comes down to 90 minutes from 2 plus hours on Normal Plus.

The smell seems to be something to do with the components inside and the air recirculating through the condensor. With the condensor out, it just smells freshly tumble dried. I've complained to Miele numerous times and they just arent interested.

One big tip as these babies arent designed for wet weather and 30plus deg C days we can get in Australia, make sure the room its installed in, is very well ventilated. On mine with the condensor in and a full load spun at 1800RPM, I've had it take over 3 hours to dry a load of mixed cottons, when the ambient room temp was in the low 30's and there was high humidity. Moving into Winter in Perth, you shouldn't have a problem though.

How do the new models go capacity wise? Can you transfer a full load from the washer to the dryer, on the 5.5kg models a full load in the washer, needs to be split to fit in the dryer?

I haven't figured out how to run it without the condenser in. Do u just remove the tray?
We never run our machines full to capacity, both me and mum like to give the clothes a lot of room to move about so every load we have done so far has fit in the dryer perfectly. This may change when its dads turn to do the washing as he is a chronic overloader, get as much in as u can, save some effort type of guy. Safe to say if he damages any machines or clothes then he has mum to answer to, which is never a fun experience.

Yup, you take off the front cover, remove the inspection door and then remove the condensor. It then just vents straight into the room like a normal dryer.

The washer will take a full load and still get it clean. You really can get a huge amount in there if you try

Hi Matty,
You have yourself a beautiful laundry set there,well done,I hope they give you many years of laundry fun.
I tend to be a bit wary on electric dryers myself,we actually have got a 5kg Hoover in the garage,but we never use it, if it is raining here, we just hang our items on portable clothes airers we keep in the spare room.
