When I was growing up in the 60s the first washer I remember was our Philco-Bendix Automagic. I believe it was about a late 1960 or 1961 model. It had a lighted console like this...

...but had a control panel similar to this BOL model and knobs just like it(except timer area was black).I can't remember if it had pushbuttons or not,but it did have a wash and wear cycle and water saver control.I think the console was on postsBut none of these 3 machines resembles it exactly. I guess that the console is a cross between this model and the 1959 Automagic. Does anyone have pictures of the full 1960-61 Philco Bendix Automagic top-load line? We kept it until about 1968.

Are these beautiful machines yours ?

And are they in your living room or dining room?

Never saw the Philco live. How lucky. Envy you. Were they really amazing?

No,these aren't mine. But I remember them NEW in Firestone stores in the 1960s.(for you youngsters-yes,they really sold the full line of Philco home appliances.Goodyear sold GE.)

Another Philco Bendix Automagic

Here's a later model Philco Bendix. The year shown in the pic is wrong.Must be a late 1961 or early 1962 model because it has a console similar to the 1962 Philco Bendix "Miss America" model.
