Help Support :

Oh and 1 ? for the MM experts

PhilR sent me the Tech Talk for these, it's an interesting mechanical design- were there any particular quirks or weaknesses to look out, or things to be likely to have to replace or update normally on these?

Congratulations

on having such a wonderful son who thought of you when he saw this washer and congratulations on getting this great washer. Use in good health. Glad you got the "diaper washer" before you enter your second childhood.

If it runs Roger

then the only thing I'd do is replace the oil in the tranny which is easy on these, its like draining a car, there is a plug nut on the tranny for this. The achilles heel on these is the central bearing buried deep in the center of the tranny. It supports the weight of the tub and water so good healthy lubrication is crucial in this tranny much more so than the Unimatic design.

It has copper and brass parts so you'll need a lubricant that is detergent free, like royal purple. Ask your local auto guy, and there should be specs in the MM manual Phil gave you on the refill amount, measure carefully as there is a molded fan up in the inside tranny dome that needs only just enough to create a swirl action which lubricates the whole tranny, too much and that causes problems.
