This WP Double Door refrigerator we bought in 2000 has been a pain in the butt since it came in the door. Every year it seems something has to be fixed. We've replaced relays, the ice maker, the fan motor, I always said next time it breaks out the door it goes!
Well, this may be something simple. Last week it stopped dispensing water through the front door. I thought that maybe the add on in line water filter may have clogged (2 years old) so I replaced it with a new one. Still no water thru the door. The ice maker does work and refills with water fine, so water is getting in the refrigerator but not to the door. When you press the lever to dispense water you can hear the click of the switch in the door, but no water. What should I look for next?
BTW, it's model # ED25PDXFW01.

If we were in Green Acres right now.....

Perhaps Mr. Haney could sell your refrigerator a revivifying potion, out of the back of his truck....

Sorry. Watching TV Land here. Come to think of it, I *should* be in bed. =)

I know dispensers/ice-makers are very convenient. Every time I dispense a glass of icy water from the door of some else's fridge, I think "You know, maybe I should get one of these."

Then I read about all the problems people have with icemakers and dispensers and I just open the door and reach for the Brita pitcher and my store-bought ice---which I then throw into the ice crusher, because nothing and I mean NOTHING beats crushed ice in a drink. Except for Bombay Sapphire gin, which I don't drink anymore so there's no use mentioning it, I suppose. Sigh.

And all some of you have to do to get crushed ice and water is stick a glass in the door. Maybe I want one after all.

:)

Hey frig, I felt the same way about icemakers until I met my partner, who had a 3-door Frigidaire with one. I was hooked. It was never a problem. Got rid of that frig when we remodeled the kitchen and replaced with a mid-80's 25' WP SxS with ice/water in the door and had that one for almost 15 years before it's frig side door fell off. It wasn't worth fixing in our opinion and it ran way too much. But the icemaker and door dispensers were never a problem. The icemaker got a little quirky there towards the end, but it never quit on us. Now we have a large KA 25' SxS in stainless and it has two things I wanted: crushed ice--the only way to enjoy a cocktail, I really hate the dam that the crescents create in a glass when you take a sip--and the ice bin in the door so when you reach for the ice, you aren't having to lift a flap (some have no way to really grab them) and reach in. The bin is easily removed and placed on a counter or whatever. I liked this design a lot. I don't know if the electric eye for the icemaker control is going to be trouble down the line or what, but it sure does seem space-age to me! So far I'm pretty happy with this latest frig, especially the crushed ice feature.
