Robert!

Veg is right! Paint the nipple!!! No one I know has a dishwasher painted like that. annddddd.....if the dishes should not come out clean, you can say that it sucks! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Mark

OK, OK, OK

....or you could paint a penis (another classical design) on there! No one that I know has one of those on their dishwasher....aaaaannnnnd if the dishes for some reason didn't come out clean then you could say.......OK I won't go there.....Veg.....take it from here! Mark

So many different ideas

Really, the possiblities are endless! I like Veg's idea as well, the never-before-seen Westinghouse boob DW!

Or, how about painting a giant Frigidaire 3-Ring on the front?

Oops! I guess since it's a Westinghouse, a WCI agitator would be much more "fitting"...what about that angel-wing?

*ducking and running hard from angry mob*

Hey, Robert, have you considered painting it PINK?

I find it HILARIOUS that the str8 world pays zillions of dollars more to HIDE the DW (*integrated* look).

We, the rainbow crowd, are once again AHEAD of and SETTING the fashion by electing to paint the mechanical maid colors such as passion pank to have it stand out.

LONG LIVE IMPELLERS!
VIVE LA DIFFERENCE!

I'll try and take a stab at convincing you to keep it white. If it came in pink originally, fine, otherwise if it didn't, leave it alone to keep it as vintage as possible. Well, how convincing was I?

Well, I don't think anyone is going to convince Robert to keep it white... but other than pink there's turquoise... or even a striped 50's pastel rainbow... which would be quite a statement.

In any case it looks like a very fun machine. I like those stainless racks. I have noticed that the vinyl ones in my '57 KD-2P and in the 17A are in great condition, no peeling, so I'm wondering if maybe KA used a better grade of vinyl coating in their older dishwashers. The 21A I have, the vinyl on the racks is peeling off in multiple places, with the upper rack on the 21A actually having rusted through its supports. I have considered that it would be possible to tig weld up a replacement rack entirely of stainless, but it would be a lot of design work - and I'm pretty awful at tig welding. And the top loading KD2P must have a coated rack, anyway, since the racks rest directly on the porcelain tub.

Ooooo...

Love your mixer collection! And you have the T-9 toaster I've been drooling over! Also the Mixmaster blender attachment! I just lost out on one of those on ebay very recently.

P.S. I think the dishwasher looks fabu the way it is :o)

Actually

Painting the cabinets pink and leaving the dishwasher white is by far the best idea yet.

And I'm serious. I feel no need to duck and run!

It would integrate the cabinets better with the appliances. The white countertop would stand out better as a nice, clean surface to work on. That unbelievably wonderful turquoise sink would stand out more and yet still look more integrated in the overall scheme. And the dishwasher would remain original. What could possibly be wrong with all that?

Or what about this, Robert?

Paint the cabinets pink and then paint the dishwasher the same yellow as the stove! (or turquoise)

That would give you the best integrated mix of all the wonderful colors going on.

Pink Perfection

Robert.
It look amazing. It pulls the pink black splash forward and also highlights the other pink accessories.
It also makes the dishwasher seem more modern.
Cool.

*GASP*

AAAHHHH!!!!! Please tell me it's Photoshopped! ;-)

There's just something about it that makes it look very strange in pink...

I bet it is photoshopped....

The 2 photos are at the identical angle.....you had us going there for a minute Robert...LOL. Whatever you decide to do, I'm sure it will be fine.
