We got a bit overly aggressive cleaning the control panel on a GE JC16Y oven and bent the temperature indicating needle. Any advice on how to fix this error and maintain proper calibration?
Took the glass out to clean that and the face panel. The damp cloth snagged the end of the of the needle and bent it. Can it safely be bent back into place?
Perhaps if you can get some flat nose pliers on the unbent end, you can use your fingers or another set of flat nose pliers to bend the rest back. One caution might be that if the metal has been over-stressed by the first bend it might break off when bent back.
