The 16 and 17 CR arms like the one pictured are NLA I may still have some good used ones around, the 18s used a different CR arm it was not as powerful as the 16 & 17 CR.

I am surprised that you haven't managed to accumulate a spare constant rinse or two in all these years of collecting these classic machines.
As you may may know, there was a change in the design from what the original units had. They changed it to a round spinning disc that had curved vanes on it which made it turn as the water went over them. I would think the old style would work better especially since WP has deemed it appropriate to put that style back in the tall tubs.

I will check in my garage and see if I have one of the newer ones as I am nearly sure I dont have an old one. In either case, it is yours.

BTW, that unit here looks like a real beauty. Now you just have to install the rinse aid dispenser. I have only one spare and want to keep it for now just in case the one in the 18/20 craps out.

Well, the trashed KDS-18 I parted out last winter of course had a broken one. I do have 2... One is in the 18 I'm using now and the other one is in the 18 you are going to rebuild for me when I get down to Florida in the Spring. LOL.
Yes that Custom is nice. The racks are perfect and the chamber is in excellent shape. I do have a Rinse Dispensor in the "KitchenAid Parts Warehouse" so I may just include it for the New Owner to install. If I don't move that Maytag, I may pop him in and give the 18 a well deserved rest. I have been using the KD2-P everyother wash. When I cook big, I like the 18. And then I'll use an alternate just for Dishes, Glasses etc. That KD2 is amazing that the whole cycle is done in approx 40 minutes. The KDS 55 is now in service. That one has seen very little use. And runs "Superbly" (Yah, Bad Joke)
If you have a spare, that would be great. John LeFever is also looking too.

I have a KDS-17A and this is what the constant rinse looks like in my machine. I guess it's not supposed to look like this? Does this mean it is just squirting water straight down? I never raalized it wasn't supposed to look like this until I saw the shots of yours.

Correct.

Yes. That's how most of the survivors look today. I think alot of people didn't realize it was not hugging the top of the tub. So something rather large near the center of the top rack when pushed in usually snapped the plastic sprayer off. You would think after the onslaught of repairmen replacing these frequently, they would have made one out of stainless steel.

Ed, here are the pictures of the newer style constant rinse assembly that replaced the classic one in the 18's It was probably much better at deflecting dishware from catching on itself and breaking. Too bad they never changed the ones for the 16-17 series too. Even WP used this spinner style in later machines and some talltubs models too.

I have one complete unit and one that is missing a pushnut and washer and the 3 nylon nuts to hold it in place but they are both yours, Ed. I will search out the missing hardware and get it as complete as possible. Should I mail them or wait to sww you in the spring? LOL
