Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

interesting find Keith

looks like they kept that model going on rather than produce the 3203 widebody keymatic. The drum looks more like the size of the outer tub in the section view, on the 2nd photo.

If this is the complete brochure, nothing is mentioned of the dual wash action, or at least not in the way it was promoted in the original machine, or could it be a larger load and no pulsator?

Certainly the sudsave would be a good idea with the amount of hot water used for a whites wash.

Hi Matthew,
Unfortunately i only had time to do a quick scan at work, on the otherside of the brochure it does mention the "only automatic with two entirely different washing actions" however on reading the two wash actions they dont really mention the pulsator action, however they do state a vigorous agitation.

I think the washtub was the same size as the UK version. The sudz saver would have been good a nice option on our Keymatic's but again UK did not have the space to have laundry sinks to store the used wash water.

I will try and get the back page scanned as soon as i get back to work after i get back to the uk after next week.

In the other Keymatic thread there was some discussion about the reasons for not marketing these machines in USA. Some of those factors would seem to also apply in Australia. It is a huge country with some people living on remote sheep stations etc. where it would be difficult to get technicians and spares.

Thank you for the reminder of that earlier thread, gosh what a lot of information we have sloshing around about the Keymatic.

And the machines shown in the earlier threads are still safe and well and can, mostly, be seen in ChesterMike's thread "The Sounds Of The Keymatic".

Interestingly it seems there are more examples of the earlier slant front models (I can think of at least half a dozen) than the later models but since that earlier thread, to my knowledge, there have been an additional wide body Keymatic & "Matchbox" Keymatic found. What remains missing from the line up is the second series wide body machine with the powder drawer on the front.

Playing a game of catch up!

Hi Keith.

Thanks for posting and sorry its taken so long for me to contribute.

Very interesting that they were still producing slant front Keymatics into the 1970s. I wonder when they finally discontinued their production run and whether the 425 was the last variant?

Wood grain effect - certainly different :-)

p.s any chance of you sneakily scanning the missing pages?
