Nice artwork, clearly evoking thoughts of a classic New England early fall day (I suspect that this young family is probably neighbors of Ricky, Lucy, Fred and Ethel after they moved to Connecticut).  But there's no text, so what's the point?  Is this art, or is this an advertisement?  Is the viewer to assume, based on the appearance of the washing machine and the kinda-sorta emblem on the truck, that this is for Apex?

It is probably an institutional ad for an industrial group like appliance manufacturers or porcelain/metal finishers or something like that where having an unrecognizable appliance was an advantage. The little girl looking like she's having a spastic fit was an unfortunate side effect of the artwork. I remember the ad from a trade journal, but I can't put my finger on the ad originator.
