Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I was wondering the same thing.  I have never seen this P.O.D. before.

Seems that any Philco Machine especially Top Loaders are as rare as Hen's teeth.

The only Philcos that I know in existence are Robert's, Jetcone's and I'm pretty sure Sharple's has one of the "Juke Box" Front Loaders.

It seems they are about as common as ABC O' Matics.

Maybe Philco owners just tended to get extra dirty?

I watched washing machines before I watched television (~1953) but I've never seen a Philco (or ABC) in real life.

1956-58. 59 would have been the first year for the "blades of water" version.

There have been a few of these agitator, ball-point balance washers around over the years in collector's hands but I don't know the status of any now. Probably one in Virginia guys' collection and perhaps one in Ohio?

Never have seen one of these washing a load of clothes, just testing one in the driveway once.
