The Washer touts "Agitator Basket" as well as "Gyrating Agitator Basket".

Would this be the Apex Bouncing Basket Wash System/ Design ?

I see also the Dryer has the "Polio Lamp" in it as well. Perhaps a re badge of Hamilton's "Sun-E-Day Lamp" ?

What Became of the Universal Brand?

I've been around all of 52 years and have been a washer fan pretty much 48 of those 52 years and never heard of "Universal." Did they go out of business or were they purchased by another manufacturer? And I love their one-unit side-by-side washer/dryer unit. Never seen that before. Anyone have any info? Just curious.

I remember we had a Universal Hot Water Heater in our summer cottage back in the 60s just like in the picture.

There was a 1947 Universal window air conditioner in my junior high algebra classroom that some parent had donated. A few years ago one of our members came across one exactly like it but I don't remember who. One of my parents neighbors had a Universal chest-type freezer in their garage.
