I'm interested in knowing who to contact or how to go about shipping a washer and dryer. I know of companys' that move things, but I'm not sure if there are any who will pack a product carefully and ship it to it's destanation, or if one has to to hire separate companys' to do the jobs and then coordinate the process to completion. Any advice would be helpful.
Thank,
Brian

yes, i have used U crate It

once to ship a dishwasher from boston to ohio and they did a fantastic job! i have used Jim to ship for me 5 times i think, he also has always done a great job and is very reasonable. he has brought me a washer from new orleans and dishwashers from as far away as calif. i will look up his e mail address and post it here.

UShip

Someone else here recommended UShip, and I'm giving them a try to ship an old washer. It's not being crated; it will ride inside a van. I'm guessing it will be strapped in place for its ride.

How UShip works is you setup the specifications for what you want to be shipped, then shippers bid on it. You can accept, or not, a bid you like best. Shippers have feedback, like on eBay, so you can examine the feedback before accepting a bid.

For the bid I ended up accepting, I noticed in the feedback that the shipper had previously shipped a vintage washer, and the customer was a poster here. I e-mailed him, and he said the experience was good, so I accepted the shipper's bid.

UShip doesn't allow you to exchange contact information with shippers until you accept a bid from one of them. However, you can ask questions of bidders through UShip's website.
