Auction

Thomas, I'll do my best to purchase this washer for you! Present bid amounts to $ 22, or less that US$ 6!

Saludos,
Emilio

Guys, would you please tell me everything about this machine?
1) how's the cycle's chart?
2) what does the black button do? Is that a button or a light?
3) Does it have a drain pump?
4) how to adjust the water level (it has a timed fill, right?)
5) How's it's spin? how many RPM?
6) Where can I find the instructions manual?
7) which one is it's original agitator? Is it the one that has 3 coloured rings?

It has one cycle, with a max of 10 minutes wash time, followed by 2 deep rinses. No overflow rinse.

The black "button" is where the light is, I asume the cap is missing.

It has a drain pump mounted directly below the motor.

It is a timed fill, and always up to the top - no half loads. Although I think you can fine tune the fill vavle to the way you like it.

It spins at 1140 rpm!!!!!!!!

You might be able to find one on Ebay. They are out there, as I have one for my Unimatic.

This machine will not have the 3 colored rings. It will probably have a black pulator and cap with a silver detergent dispenser

tansportation!

Frigidaire experts please help me, it's a little urgent!

I'm choosing the freight company to transport the Unimatic from Buenos Aires to Puerto Iguazu (almost 1700 KM) IF I WIN THE AUCTION.

Please note that I've never seen that machine personally and I don't know if it needs any kind of special protection during the transport.

Unimatic owners, how would you transport your babies?

If you are having this shipped via a freight carrier, make sure that it is somehow fastened to a pallet. This way it can be moved around from trailer to trainer using a pallet lift jack. Otherwise if it is left standing up it shouldn't have too many issues. I had a 1956 Unimatic shipped from Texas to Iowa (approx. 900 miles) like this, via You Crate.

You could have the shipper 'block' the tub, if you feel necessary by bracing the top of the tub rim with the top panel with two pieces of wood.

This is my personal preference. You may have other advice given on alternate methods.

Ben

I agree with having the tub blocked somehow to minimize unnecessary movement. It should be kept upright since it has oil in the transmission that will leak out if tipped over. When you get it I would be sure to inspect the internals well before attempting to plug it in and start it up.

Somebody please!!!

... post a picture of the control panel, specially the dial.

I'm almost fainting... there's a few hours to end the auction and I still don't know if that machine will be mine.

Yesterday night I had to drink half glass of wine to sleep (I almost never drink so a few drops can make me happy, half glass makes me sleep like a rock and two glasses make me very drunk)

For a few minutes I thought I was going to light a cigarrete and loose all these wonderful days free from nicotine.

Auction has ended!

Congratulations Thomas, machine is your for $ 145, or a little over US$ 37! Shipping costs from Buenos Aires to Iguazu (Argentinian side) $ 170, or US$ 44 (Iguazú is close to 900 miles away from Buenos Aires!)

I just contacted the seller, asked him for the story of the washer: machine was brought new into Argentina in the mid 50's by a foreign diplomat. He never used the washer, and it was still new when he sold it in the early 60's. The purchasera was the mother of a friend of the seller. The machine was used until some years ago by this woman, it was then crated and stored. He emphasized the washer worked perfectly when stored. Washer is even for 110V/60Hz! Brazil is 60 Hz, so the washer should work like a charm.

I guess Thomas will be getting the washer by the end of next week!

Big cheers for Thomas!
Emilio

Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit's mine!

Wohooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
can you imagine my face when, during a business meeting, I got a message from a member from the brazillian community saying (ipsis litteris)

"Congratulations daddy, it's a girl! You won the auction"

Thank you so much Lord! Thank you Emilio! and thanks to all the members that wished me luck.

Now I'll create another thread to ask the Unimatic experts to help me.

Best of all, My cousin has a friend that works on a freight company in argentina... Probably the freight will be almost free.

I need to write an email to Emilio... maybe tomorrow morning because I forgot the post it with the address in my car.
