To the best of my knowledge,
most goods like paper towels, bathroom tissue, facial tissue, copier paper already have a substantial amount of "preconsumer" recycled content already.
As for postconsumer recycled content, it's a bit more challenging, but it IS being done.
Not just eco brands like Seventh Generation, but brands from Scott Paper, Kimberly-Clark, P&G, Georgia-Pacific, Marcal.........
I am sure that some Really Helpful Person will be able to quote Actual Statistics.
I use paper towels, but with some forethought, and not with the abandon of years gone by. However, for microwaving bacon, I can't think of a better cover for the spatter while letting the steam out.
