We had a mini meet recently to overhaul the Parnall SpinWasher semi-automatic top loader, I had a phone call from a lady in Somerset who at 70yrs young was downsizing, She told me when she first married her mother-in-law gave her this and she used it for nearly 10yrs with young children until she traded in for Bendix 7147 autowasher as she needed an automatic because she was a working mum. The Spinwasher had stood in her garage (and had been used a a spinner when she had problems with new washer) until she contacted me. She couldnt bare to skip it so wanted it to be preserved!!
Inital fill & test proved needed brake shoes adjusting, new motor capacitor, tweeks to the Selectromat control valve, re-fitting a nut and bolt in the perforated solid tub liner as it was leaking and usual new pipes etc..
