Generous Members
While still a relative junior member and collector of vintage washing machines, have found many members of this group generous over and above the call to duty.
When my first vintage find, a Hoover TT needed a pump, a members helped direct me to various sites, and another member even sent me some parts including a pump all the way from Oz!
You get out of any thing what you put into it, Mr. SpeedQueen. All one sees of your posts is mainly "Buy Me, Bring Me, Take Me, Send Me".
If you bothered to read the archives of the group, you will see many exchanges of parts and such between members. However that is not to say just because I happen to have a "Vintage Speed Queen Lint Filter" laying about, would part with it for you or any other member. Vintage appliance parts are hard to come by and often either Lady Luck or sheer effort plays a key role in finding them. If you noticed there are many members with their eyes always peeled for "something". They go to estate sales, thrifts, crawl though basements/attics/old stores covered in muck and god only knows what else, to find something that probably hasn't seen the light of day since D-Day. Why should someone after spending all that effort on a "find", just give it away to you? True many members will pass along things they do not need, but that is their choice, not your due.
My thing is trolling eBay, and am happy to pass along links here in the group to items I think a member may want. It may not be much, but only trying to help in my own way.
You want parts? May one suggest you make a little more effort and less time picking on the group. The later is counter productive anyway, as even if a member has what you are seeking, they may be less inclined to do a deal with someone who seems very self centered.
Rant over, we now return you to your regularly scheduled program.
