My parents have an 2002 Frigidaire 18" dishwasher. The motor recently failed and the part (or the substitution for part) is no longer available. The racks were also rusting pretty bad so they decided to purchase a new one. I have a 2005 Kenmore model in my house that is almost identical. I was planning to save some parts from theirs for mine and was going to save the wash arm parts, water valve, and heater. Is it worth disassembling the door to save the function buttons or soap dispenser parts? Do these fail at all? Mine has a different timer with a delay start option. Is there anything else that should be saved? Parts for these 18" models seen scarcer since they don't make too many.
