Hi. The other day I took my old Creda 37381 to the tip and saw a Hotpoint 9326, Creda Compact 3 and if you thought that was as bad as it got...nope, a 95622. I wasn't allowed to take any of them, no room back here even though they let you take machines. I have cropped shots so I've got close-ups.

Here's a pic of all the appliances, I'll post more pictures in a while.

I'm very sorry about this.

Chris.

(Jacob was with me at the time, so can you post your pics too please!)

Thanks

Close Up

The machine did have some cosmetic flaws, such as the big chunk of fascia missing, chunks out of the side strips but it did still have the chrome door.

Amongst Others...

There was a Hotpoint WM62, a Creda Sensodry, a Crusader Dryer from the 90s, Bosch Precision, Indesit WIDL126, WK Condenser ...

Hi Chris.

I always approach scrapyards and tips with a degree of trepadation. What will be there and will it cause a problem for me?

Ohhh that poor 95622:-( Yep, fascially a bit far gone but, as you mention, it still has its chrome door. Also, ignoring the lack of side strips, its main front panel looks rustless and its lid looks in good nick too AND is the rare extended lid!

That 9326 sneaking in the background looks to also have a good lid and its right side strip is intact too. I get the impression, from only an edge of the machine, that it was in good visual condition?

Being honest, I probably wouldn't have rescued either machine, but the temptation of parts would definitely have seen me asking permission.

Ahhhhh, well.
Sad photos but all part of the re-cycle of appliance life.
Paul
p.s we have all had to let machines go or pass on them at some stage. Two painful instances for me were a pristine Hotpoint TL21 and, I still kick myself with the next one, a grade B-/C+ Hotpoint 9414 Supermatic De Luxe:-(
Even more painful memories from the dim and distant past, when I was still at school and not in a position to preserve anything - circa 1990, walking round the back of the scrap metal skip was a 3224 slant front Keymatic! I stuck the keyplate in my pocket and still have it to this day:-(
Another occasion, at a different tip, again circa 1990 - a pristine Zanussi S118T, resting on its back, at a 45degree angle, right at the top of the skip. Could open the door, pull the powder drawer out and turn the programmer:-(

Poor things-they look so forlorn and want a new home.At one dumpsite I went to there was a part called the "Too Good To Waste" area-you would find all types of appliances there-one lady found a fridge she liked-she was hugging it and letting other dump patrons know its HERS while hubby went for his truck. Those look like they could be fixed up and have second lives rather than go to the crusher or shredder.Esp the one that is marked "Stop Overloading me!"Most dump places near me let you take old machines if you want them.
