Norgetag.  Given to me by a relative.  The mechanism had locked-up and they figured the worst so opted for a Whirly frontloader set.  Turned out to be a simple bad pump.  I disassembled and cleaned it up.  Also changed the fill flume, water valve, and of course the belt was worn from the jammed pump.  NOT impressed with the lid hinge arrangement that wears off the paint on rear edge of the lid.

Basket cleaning almost finished, notice the residue.

"5 Speed Combinations" touted on the console is a mistake, unless I'm not understanding something.  There are four settings on the control.

The machine is a beast.  :-)

Norge-Noisy tranny.  The spin brake is vicious and has a squeal.

Pump-out rate is very fast.

No spray rinses, except one very brief spray 4 mins into the first spin on Perm Press, which is useless as a cool-down.  Final spin on Perm Press is EIGHT mins, including the first "drain" increment.

The designated Hand Wash runs a reasonably-short 2 min wash, but rest of the Regular/Delicate cycle is normal length, including a long 1st spin, a long agitated rinse (long for a hand-wash situation), and a long final spin.

I have one similar

Mine is a Maytag ''Ensignia'' model MAV2757AWW and I am currently in the process of repairing the transmission and will be sure to post pictures of the whole process after I am done! I have been meaning to ask some of the members on this forum, how do you get rid of rust? after taking mine apart im seeing some rust spots that I would like to touch up but im not really sure what to do...?

And the noise level you mention...

Doesn't seem normal. Mine is whisper quiet most of the time, i mean sure you can hear it running but its not loud and doesn't have a squeaking brake by any means. The pump out rate is very fast though, even though mine has the newer redesigned pump version with the strange shape. Mine also does at least 1 spray rinse at the first of the drain-spin on every cycle unless its on permanent press, then it does 2 spray rinses..one for each spin cycle.

Amazing what a little marketing can do. They probably count that extra rinse cycle as another speed combination. My GE claims 8 speed combinations. It has a 2-speed motor just like yours. Anything they can do to make it sound like it's more than it really is.

I miss mine

I have to admit, I had an earlier PAV but with a similar feature set.

Miss the true "speed" combinations. You can get a slow agitation and slow spin, slow/fast, fast/fast, or whatever. And the extra rinse button was very handy. Nice wide big basket.

True it only lasted 10 years, but it had a great set of features, and I have a soft spot in my heart for it because it was my first major appliance purchase as a then new homeowner.
