Heeeeeeeeeers...

Perc on day 2. Of course, you know he can't be away from the site for too long, so......

He's clawing at me to give the computer back, so I'd better give it to him now.

Day 2

Here we go again<LOL> I'm feeling great. The meds seem to be working faster than expected. What was a painful, golf ball sized tumor in my neck is now, less than 24 hours later, a painless lump just half the size. Also the other cancer related pains have dissapeared...YAY. BRING ON DA POISON!!!

No nausea to speak of but I have experienced a little bit of GERD. Prilosec seems to be helping with this.

I hope to meet all of you who have sent your good wishes so that I can thank you in person. Your positive energy IS working :-) THANK YOU. It means so much to me:-)

Love and hugs!
Rich

Yay, that's great news. Now about that chair. It looks perfect for lounging while polishing up treasures with the side tables for holding all the clothes and buffers etc.. Is it comfy?

DAY 3

All things considered I'm still feeling pretty well. I am noticing changes that are making me feel less than to shape. Bouts of mild nausea and general fatigue, shartness of breath and muscle ache are the most prominent changes. The anti-nausea drugs are keeping me pretty loopy. I react very quickly to meds so the effects tend to last pretty long.

Chuck and I were able to go out for a fantastic dinner with Bobby DeRegis and his partner Matt. Thanks Bobby and Matt for the delicious treat :-)

PeteK: No the recliners are not very comfortable. I spent a portion of my day sitting in a regular chair. I can just see me dragging in a few toasters-percolators and my can of Mothers. I think they may frown on this <LOL>

Again, thank you all for your support and best wishes. I love reading it every morning :-)

My best wishes to all of you,
Rich

Re: Rich and Chuck:

I'm so glad to hear as others that you are doing so well, with the Chemo Treatments and with the basically minor side-effects that it brings.

You are in my Thoughts and Prayers now and all the way through this time of need to get you well and going again.

I've got a newer Friend at a Church that I just started attending Activities 1-year ago this past March, who just had Cancer come back in her, after 9-years ago of dealing with it. It has gone into her Kidneys this time around, as well as wherever else. She has elected to not have any kind of Treatment and just wants to trust GOD's Faith and everyone's Prayers for her instead.

I've become a Member of this Church in February and I was Baptized also in February as a "Born Again Christian" and I've had all positive coming out of the Church people that I've met and I've seen how they all care for each other and help others, no matter what in their time of need.

I wish you a Speedy Recovery and feeling well again real soon, with hopes that the Med's etc. continue to help you with keeping more slight side-effects, during your Chemo times.

Peace, Blessings, Prayers, Luv of Friendship and Hugs, Steve

Thanks again to everyone!!!

Rich is having a tough day. He finished the first cycle of chemo Tuesday, but had to get a single drug today (bleomycin). About an hour later, he was feeling more nauseaus and tired. The doctor said this was OK, though this drug doesn't usually cause nausea for most people. Take a Compazine (we were avoiding this because it makes Rich way loopy). Then, the chills started. He couldn't get warm. We tried a heating pad and only what touched the pad would stop shivering. Finally he let me go out and get him an electric blanket.

Good luck! Wal-Mart put them on clearance and they were gone in 2 days. The customer service manager tried the surrounding stores, and nothing. I decided to try Ocean State Job Lot (I know, Bobby, should have gone there first) and they had one.

I got home, started to open it, asked him how he was doing, and he said he was warm. Still keeping the blanket though!!!

Anyway, he's resting now, so hopefully the reaction is over. When we saw the doctor earlier today, she said he should start getting relief from the general nausea hopefully this weekend.

Keep the good thoughts and positive energy comin' our way. It's very well appreciated!! You guys (collective M & F) are great!

Chuck
