Looks like Henkel is about to release a new type of laundry detergent the Persil Eco Power Bars. The Eco point is less packaging.
It`s a powdered Tab-like detergent but unlike Persil Tabs the Bars do not go into the dispenser drawer and they don`t contain bleaching agents or OBAs.
Sufanctant levels are low (compared to Megaperls) so they`ll probably be rather low sudsing.
In the Amazon description they are recommended for whites and colors including black clothes and it is mentioned that they dissolve in cold and hot water and work in all types of machines including "Hochleistungswaschmaschinen" a term that does not really exist here and probably means High Efficiency.
Leads me to think that they might be launched on the US market too because none of this makes a lot of sense for the average German consumer.

Am I inclined to give them a try? Certainly not, but I thought I`d share the news.

Persil Ecoactive UK/Ireland (Unliever) - doesn't exist

Interestingly, that Ecoactive Persil sold in New Zealand by Unilever does not exist in the UK and Ireland at present. Persil in New Zealand and Omo in Australia are the same products. They're only loosely related to their European cousins.

Unilever in France does a version called Persil Naturissime and Omo Nature which don't exist in the UK and Ireland either.

The closest thing we have is P&G's Ariel's plant based 'Pure Clean' version of its liquids, which actually works very well but so far, at least as far as I'm aware, Unilever hasn't done anything particularly eco with Persil or Surf here.

We've a lot of other brands : Ecover, Method, store label eco brands and various smaller companies, but so far Unilever here hasn't really bitten the eco bug at all.
