Anyone find after using this for a period that a somewhat strong scent remains in the clothes?I find the scent remains stronger in fitness clothing.
I use about a tablespoon and a half per load, so would it work as well if I cut it in half? Unless there is another color safe detergent to use out there I could try?

I use this all the time and there is no scent left over. However I never use regular detergents in fitness clothing. Not sure what brand of clothing you are using, but I mostly have Nike fit shirts and pants for the gym. I use sports wash(Miele, or anything else labeled for sporting clothes) for all of these types of items.

Reason is the sports wash seems to remove body odor and dirt from the lycra material very easy in cold water. Result is clean odor free clothes that retain their sweat removal properties.

So I would switch to this type of detergent for your sports clothes and forget Persil Megaperls, Tide or any other type of regular detergent.

Regular colored loads: .. For me there is no left over scent at all BUT I only use 2 teaspoons full for a regular load. Extra dirty oily full loads get 1 tablespoon, so I would try to decrease the amount and see what your results are.

@jerrod6

I've tried the Miele sports wash never liked the scent.
Sounds like the problem with Megaperls is with dosage, I did try a teaspoon this morning and there was a difference. Since it is megaperls and not powder it is more concentrated so follow dosage according to product TYPE.
I'll keep it at this pace for the time.If there is any difference in cleaning I can increase it to what you are using/recommending,less = more.

Tks :)

Yeah there is a slight scent remaining in clothes with the Miele sport wash that doesn't bother me too much, but there are other sports washes available. The one I am using now is sold by the store I buy the gym clothes and it works as well as the Miele doesn't leave any scent at all, and it's cheaper.

Glad the reduced amount of Megaperls is working for you so far.

I have had a box of this product open since 2004. I got it free from the dealer when I bought the 1918. It does have the little plastic measure in it so I can see what they mean by 1/4 cup or 22 ml use which is pretty much what the coffee measure holds and I use one of those per load of either Persil or Tide HE with an equal amount of STPP. I just don't have that many colors to wash except for dark colors for which I use liquid Cheer with color guard and 85 F water. At the rate I'm not using it, it will be at my estate sale.

Does the sports wash formula contain antimicrobial agents or just not block the antimicrobial propertires of the sportswear?

Tom

Most of my loads every week except one are colors, so I use up the color formula faster than the white. All loads except the gym and fleece loads are cotton with many items designed to fade a bit so having the color detergent comes in handy. I've been using Persil Fewa for darks. How do you like the liquid Cheer and is it free of Optical brighteners?

I am currently using another sport wash since I think it is all the same so I don't have a bottle of the Miele stuff handy to see what Miele is claiming although I think it was supposed to help block odor and help retain the shape of the fabric. It does remove odor and stains in cold water, but then so does my current product.

I did like the slight scent remaining in the clothes and it would be gone after 3 minutes of working out!
