Hi there!

I did join last year as DazLover98 but I only posted a few things & forgot my login, oops :)

I am Beckham (hi-loswitch98) over on vacuumland too, but I thought I'd sign up on here again since I've gotten back into detergents & washing again.

This might sound a bit crazy, but I've never used Persil powder in my life before! I've used the Small & Mighty which is excellent, but after reading loads of detergent threads it seems the non bio version is more popular than the bio version, & it's intrigued me to go & buy some Persil Powder.

How well does Persil Non Bio work on fast washes btw?

Thanks :)

Sorry, can't help on Persil and non bio, but I love my Ariel my Bio and Colour Powder! I am relatively new to powder and it's fab, everything smells so nice and cleans brilliantly!

Only con is it's more expensive than Persil, so I stock up when it's on offer.

Hi and ......

welcome back to the group. Regarding Persil Non Bio powder it is definitely the best performing non bio out there but to be honest you'd probably get better results from the bio small and mighty ( highest scoring liquid detergent in the Which? review). Don't forget a lot of the general public in the UK think that enzymes = skin irritation when this is not the case. The only recorded enzyme allergies are in workers in detergent factories that come into contact with the "raw" product. It's perfumes and dyes that irritate peoples skin and quite often the irritation is from softener.

As to it's performance in a "quick wash" I would ask do you mean the 30 deg in 30 mins wash or a normal programme with "quick wash "selected? I would say if it's the 30 at 30 that program is only designed to freshen things up and not ideal for getting normally soiled items clean. Even Persil Small and Mighty Bio, which used to claim good results on a 30@30 wash have now changed the claim and a "quick wash" is now classed as a 60 minute cycle.

Persil Non Bio powder is great for whites when washing @ 60deg or above. I've used it on and off for the past 30 years, however for general laundry at temps below 60deg you are far better with a good quality bio detergent.

Hi thanks for replies.

Paul, I meant using actual 'quick wash' cycles such as the Hoover Rapid 30, 44 & the A59'. Persil Bio small & mighty works really well on the Rapid 30 wash, providing the stain isn't too heavily ingrained.

Thanks :)
