Our Sputnik (a crazy dog-like Siamese/Tabby blend) loves the shower. He loves to jump up and balance himself on the end of the tub, and then gradually come into the water. He doesn't get himself doused, but he gets pretty damp. Occassionaly he'll agree to a shampooing, as long as you are there in the shower with him. And he REALLY loves to lap at the water left in the shower when you are done. That used to gross me out, but I figure that he feels the same way about shower water as I do about coffee :-)

He also loves to torment the dogs and roll in smelly stuff in the yard.

But he would NOT take kindly to the "pet spa". I think he'd just hunker down and take it with grim stoicism though. He's a Seattle cat, after all: Deluges are nothing new, and they are certainly better than racoons.

Dalangdon,

If you want to curb your cat's shower lapping habit, just keep a bowl of fresh water for him in the bathroom at all times. Cats associate bathrooms with fresh water, and their tendency is not to drink water that is near their food.

Good Lord!

Sometimes I just want to give up on people alltogether. Just plain S T U P I D. I would really like to think that people, in general, are a little smarter than those displayed in the videos, but I'm arriving at the stark realization that most of the population seem to be idiots!....and TRY to PROVE it daily! NOT a cat lover.....

But if the cat is in this much distress only for the ease of the owner, then they should get a goldfish, they love water!!!!!
