Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

George

Point proven with foul language outbusrt,

Also the Bendix thread you made was down right rude.

James I need not say anymore and I appreciate your input, Thanks :)

this is my last post here as well

This is my last post as well in this thread but all i went to had is for the older generation like me in my case thats use to using topload washers its hard having to get use to newer generation of washer like in my case i have grownup and in my home the washer was mostly a top load washer and from 1993 to 2004 use a top load washer so when i swtich to the washer model i have as a daily driver i can say that for me its hard getting use to using it but my point in this is that we all have diffrent taste or fav washers that we prefer so in my point i think that we should respect each other diffrent point of view and i also think that before using anyone elese pic ask the permission of the original poster first or try to google similar pictures. ok i am done and this was my 2 cents in this thread.

Rob, in which way was my Bendix thread rude?! dont think i put a single rude word in it. and i didnt use "foul" language.

Could it be???

Well being as if this thread has jumped to the top again, thought it was dead!
I have a sneak peek of something coming to my Matosch Brand.
What could it be, and I have added it to this thread, as it is this thread that got me started on making this drawing.

All of you

I've only just seen these messages and want to say thanks for those who are supporting me. I want my say now...

Rob,
I do not know what you have against us younger generation? I'm only 17 but who cares. I know there are younger kids out there who wreck these old classic machines but at the end of the day... What do we do???? I would love nothing more than to have every single Hotpoint washer from the 70's 80's and 90's back in our kitchens and not in land fill or just collectors! I'm not having a go but I am beginning to get fed up of the "younger kids" crap and the fact you won't give us ANY advice on restoring so how the HELL are we supposed to resotore these oldies If we don;t get any help? The only real reason of me joining this site was to get advice and I have got it. But I find you very rude and unpleasent and wouldn't even dream of stealing any of your images. If Aquarius8000 is stealing them then that's your beef with him.

Think I've said enough.

George,
Thank you SO much for your support and I know your always there to help me with stuff I need and I see your point fully.

Supermaticjames,
I'm glad you get on with Rob as I hear he has a reputation of not accepting any younger kids so you being 16 must be a novelty. I'm 17 and got some really helpful advice from the younger gen'. :)

And on a final note... What's with the "Bringing up a thread after it's died" Shit Rob? Honestly does it really matter? We are not "snivelly little kids" as you put us down to be like you the great grand lord or something. And also with the "clogging up" the site. I didn't realise there was a limit to how many threads you can create?

Please tell me if i'm mistaken?

Also,

For anyone that want's to add me on facebook (any age) my email address is
[email protected] (Just type in my email in the search bar)

You will be able to talk to me and ask me advice as I do know how to do the basics on a washer. Changing brushes, doors etc.

And when I start my own collection of Hotpoint classics, I will be sure to help any of you that may need my help so stop by my wall any time!

Kind Regard and Best Wishes
Daniel Keetley.

Rob

with all do respect, get off your high horse and pull your head out...

Stop picking on all these new members because at the end of the day, they like doing laundry, and they like different machines just like we do

This is a forum for sharing pictures...and information about appliances, if someone uses a picture in a blog..so what? its just a picture of a washing machine...Rob you didn't design the brochure or take the photo of the washer in the brochure, so why should you say that its your image???

Please stop being so childish, and start being nice to members on this site, because I find you very rude and immature for a 27 year old who is pushing 30...

Rant over!!

I will be open for discussion with any of you when you go back and READ WHY and UNDERSTAND why I am upset about this.

Until then you know where I stand on the issue.

You are all intelligent enough to work it out when you read it. Feel free to ask your parents to read it too and have them explain it. They will (hopefully) know all about going to work for hours and hours a week to pay bills and buy food to live. and how little is left to buy these things unless you work more hours. Hours taken away from your life for maybe 30 minutes of reading.

As for unlimited threads, not the case, everytime a new thread is made and old one drops off the bottom of the list and is archived where it cannot be posted on. thus meaning a new thread has to be made if someone wishes to discuss that particular machine. That then makes it more difficult to find info when you need it,

Thats all im saying on the matter.

Daniel, I think you may have missed the point here. It has nothing to do with age and everything to do with respect for others on the forum. You cannot go around using other peoples photo's. I'm sure Rob wouldn't care if he was ASKED first or credited for them, but neither happened.

okay

you've all got points, and yes rob i also see where your coming from for a change, but you could be politer about it, if you really dont want us using "your" pics then cool beans, But you could be polite about it.
If you dont want us to ask for advice, we wont, but on the threads we are asking for advice you dont have to say how rude we are for asking, as i'm sure your probably aware, some other "senior" members give us some anyway. All u have to do is ignore the threads. you were our age, what? 10 years ago, so im sure youve been in the same predicament before. We are not all immature chavs like some other young users we just need a chance to prove that but your not giving it.
I happen to be only 14 but im into old machines, infact i cant stand most modern ones and i am also into fixing them up or putting them into good use. I also happen to be getting 2 95's (well not 100% sure about the second one yet) and they both need work, and im going to try my best to get them running properly with no hiccups again, and i WILL be asking for advice, wether you give me it or not. So can we all just stop the bloody arguments before I BECOME RUDE AND HORRIBLE TO YOU!!!!
thanks, George :)

About giving credit

I might be off topic here but i would say that before using someone else 's picture it would be polite to ask the member if is picture can be use first or to at least put the name of the member in you post like my thanks and credit to "member name here" for this Picture. Or to put a link to the thread where the original picture is located. its like taking someone else 's creation or in this case pictures without asking. Thats all i have to say.

Rob,

It's not all about the money and if you go out and work hard day to day Rob. It's about you always putting us youngsters down and not giving us a chance. I do agree however of the use of your images but maybe you should start putting your name on the images. I will be be as I have come across an old catalogue with old Hotpoint and Hoovers.

But don't forget most of us are still at school and college and haven't started a collection yet so count yourself lucky you have all those old Hotpoints and Hoovers etc already.

But the point is

Rob, you don't own the rights to the image, you didn't photograph the washer in 1983 when the brochure was made, as you were born in 84 you weren't even born then, so therefore its not "your" image.

Sure you scanned the brochures but at the end of the day, you don't own the rights to the image!! you may own the brochure but its not your image, its property of Hotpoint!!

SO PLEASE GET OVER YOURSELF!!

Images

I suppose really you brought the brochures out of your own hard earned money. But at the end of the day Rob, they belong to Hotpoint and they way your parading around acting like there all yours and nobody elses makes me pretty angry. Like Zannus_Lover said, Hotpoint photographed these Images, not you. I grew up with Hotpoints ALLL OOVEEERRR the place, Nana had a 95452 which I would regularly sit and watch, my auntie had loads of them. 9530's etc. And for you to say you "own" the pics is not right. You "own" the brochure with the pics, but you don't own the images themselves.

Again

I'm not missing the point... I understand, they are the images that HE posted, I used one just for an expample and yes, maybe I should of put his name for credit but It's not the end of the world is it?

Rob,
I was going to give you my old Hotpoint 95130 FOR FREE for you to bring back into this world to restore. It only had knackered bearings, a faulty motor a burnt door seal and a cracked fascia. But I look back and think, why should I? You won't help us so we wont reward you back. Simple as. And for the 95130, that went to a collector in Nottingham where I live to be restored to working order he said he also has a n old Microtronic with a slanted fascia in full working order. He brought it from me for £5 which Is genorous. He to was interested in the old 95's.

But back to the point. Yes we should NOT have used the images and I do feel guilty but you will never understand that.

great to see you sold that machine to a collector dan!
And to say you were going to give it him for free, he really is being ungreatful and childish!!!

It's about you always putting us youngsters down

Well "you youngsters" are the ones using the forum like an instant messaging service, trashing perfectly good washing machines, forcing machines to sudslock and get WAY too excited about it, arguing and swearing rather than actually participating in a discussion, using other's photo's without asking or crediting the relevant person. Respect is a 2 way thing, I'm afraid and you have to earn it. Everybody is born equal and you have to work to be respected. I'm not saying it's everybody doing the above either, before anybody says it, but I don't think some of "you youngsters" really think before you act a lot of the time.

FYI, I'm not much older than any of you but still have common sense and am fully aware of the respect that this forum and the people more experienced than myself on
it deserve, even if I don't always agree with them.

Rob spent his hard earned money on those brochures and has taken good care of them. He has also spent hours of his life when he could have been doing something else scanning those brochures in to be posted for the rest of us to see. I do think Rob over-reacted slightly, but he was still perfectly within his rights to say something. It wouldn't have taken 30 seconds to type "thanks very much to aquarius1984 for the scans" or something to that effect.

I get your point. i stated it earlier. But you talking about trashing washers on this thread is wrong because its not a single one of us on this thread who does it so that was a bit uncalled for.
Secondly, we cant ern respect as when we make mistakes all you seem to do is jump down our throats about it, even when we apologize. and when you say respect works both ways, most of the senior members put us down and are rude to us just because they are a huge 5 years or more older than us :O so yes it does work both ways, also applying to some of the senior members.
And for the last time, like dannys said, he didnt realise and its done now, they wont do it again so can we drop this. this is 1 step forwards and 2 steps back. cant change the past, but we can improve the future.
Everyone drop it and dont just ignore this because im a youngster. EVERYONE STOP ARGUING NOW!!

AquaCycle

I to get your point but me, George, Phil, CJ etc DO NOT "trash" as you put it our washers. We don't force sudslocks on them, if it happens it's usually because I've either put to much soap powder in the drum or it's a big towl load. It can't be helped sometimes. Second, We DO NOT smas washers up or the fun of or because we want to. Certain younger people do it but we do not. Only because we are young does not mean we are automatically huligans. As George said as well. I have apologised plenty of times and WILL NOT be apologising again! End of! I do not like being treated like one that flew over the cukoo's nest!

And as for the "instant messaging" bull your saying we type on here is NOT true! I am fully aware what Facebook and MSN are used for. Myself and George DO NOT use this site as an instant messaging alternative, EVER! All the 2 or 4 threads I've created on here have been solely for advice on my Hotpoint Aquarius Electronic 800 De Luxe 9524!
