If anyone in the club wants to help, this is for a worthy cause. Let's all do what we can to help these precious animals.
Thanks,
Shane
Dear Shane,
As you read this, The Humane Society of the United States is on the ground in Southeast Texas desperately working to save animals stranded by Hurricane Ike.
At the request of the Texas State Animal Resource Team, our highly trained disaster responders are operating in Jefferson and Orange counties, leading both land and water rescues in the devastated region. We’re also establishing emergency sheltering operations and evacuating more than 125 animals from the Humane Society of Southeast Texas in Beaumont to make room for the influx of rescued animals.
Our entire relief effort is funded by donations from generous people like you.
Since late last week, our disaster teams have been in Nacogdoches, Texas, to keep animals safe from Ike’s path. We are now fully dispatched in the region -- with the specially equipped boats and vehicles needed to perform rescues, transport animals to safety, and meet emergency sheltering needs.
At the forward command center in Beaumont, The HSUS is working with staff and volunteers from local and national groups to save animals stranded by the storm and reunite them with their families. We’re working as fast as we can, but sadly, we fear that hundreds of pets and other animals are still waiting to be rescued across the region. Thank You for your generous contribution to support our relief effort.
And,as always, thank you so much for all you do for animals.
Our thoughts are with the human and animal victims of this massive hurricane.
Sincerely,
Wayne Pacelle
