Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Here is a short video of a 66 Philco washing, also at Jimmy's house in '08. They really are very cool machines.

What a beauty!

Fantastic looking machine!
These Philco's are becoming so rare.
I remember Jimmy had a beautiful top of the line Dexter with the same wash system! Had the black and red "agitator". It was a knock out!
Jimmy where you at?
Miss your post!

Yay for Jimmy!

Great price for a great machine!
This machine will run many years to come!
Great offering.
Who was the high bidder? I am sure it is someone from the club.

In that video I noticed the word "Contourfill". The font that is used on that is the same as I have seen on dashboards of Ford cars from the mid 60's era.

And yes, that is very strange that the clothes are rolling over very nicely without the top of the agitator moving. First time I ever saw that.

GM did the same thing. One of the most notable exchanges between divisions was the styling panel on the 1960 TOL Frigidaire ranges and refrigerators - exact same styling was using on the inset decor on the 1960 deVille and Series 62 cars. Fonts were also traded between Frigidaire and the car makes too.

To the new owner - enjoy your new Ford! Lovely machine.

1960 Cadillac inset also used by Frigidaire

You mean like the repeating circular design on the stainless inset on the door panel of this '60 Coupe DeVille?

In the early '70's my parents had my grandparents' 1960 Frigidaire and I do seem to remember a circular pattern on it - I think on the bottom trim panel and also a repeating circular design on the square door handle. I think the freezer door handle was a rectangle.

That's it!

Thanks for posting that picture! That is my grandparent's 1960 Frigidaire except it was white and the handle inserts were blue if memory serves.
