I have a Philco washer that I am going to be selling. I am not going to list it on Ebay, and will instead take your bids privately by email. I want this machine to go to a club member. Payment can be made by PayPal if you have an account, or cash when you pick it up, or by personal check. Bidding will start as soon as I post, and end on Sunday evening at 10pm. My email is: [email protected] Those of you that know whashers, know how rare this baby is. It is THE AUTOMAGIC washer by Philco. When you depress a cycle tab on the left of the machine, it completely changes the timeline of the timer display. I thought about keeping this machine but already have a set, and thought that a member of the club might like to have a Philco of their very own. You may not see one of these again for quite some time, if ever. The machine is in pretty much mint condition and very clean. The rubber parts look to be in good condition, but without hooking it up who knows? (and right now I don't have a lot of time to fool with it, as I am trying to get moved into my new home by Saturday) This is the perf-solid tub design, much like the Maytag AMP tubs. I am not going to be online much between now and the auction end, so if you are interested, submit your best bid. I will update each bidder as to the highest bid every evening. At the end of the auction, I will notify the winner and the winner can tell other members if they so choose. The auction will remain private. Oh, and of course this machine has LIGHTEDCONTROLS!!! Eddie...

Take a deap breath...It says email Mark and make an offer.

It's a cool washer, but I already have more than I need. Just ask Chris, lol.

Oh my Lord In Heaven! Jesus , Mary, and Saint Joseph!!! I b

Is it the classic manta ray undulating agitator?

What a reason to finally come to see you and Steve and John.

If it doesn't work, how much skill is needed to make it so, and is such skill available in Buffalo?

MA is 8 hours away, and Jimmy is 3-- a no brainer since Jimm

And how do we know someone won't bid 2 million? In which case, I'll be taking no thing no where, shortly. You are a sly fox, green eyes!!

Paging Jimmy Filterflo

Does this model do the slow spin spray rinse undulation pause and repetition that yours does? Steve thinks it's a '58, first year offered. Please advise before the off-shore bank notifies Mark that my million dollar check has bounced ;'D

This a 1959 Model, it's the first year Philco came out with it's High-Frequency wash action. You can find tv and magazine ads from the autumn of the previous year for many of the next years models. They made three models of this very first design, this one picture above is the TOL model.

Mike this machine solid tub washer, so its cycle is slightly different than the later perf tub machines. During the first spin it spins the water over the top of the tub for 1 min, spray rinses for 1 min and then spins for 5 before a 2 minute coast period.

Hi Steve, yeah there is one for this machine, it covers both the early design and the later design. The pumps were very specialized with a big rubber boot to act as a reservoir for the water level switch.

If you look at our consumer article library here at aw.org, you will find the 1959 issue of Con Rpts where you can see how they did like this machine.

I've had two of the machines but the middle-of-the-line model, then I found the exact same machine with its matching dryer both in amazing mint condition, I was very lucky. Below is a link to restoration of the first one...

Robert:

It should tell you something about how impressive your collection is when I tell you that I really never noticed that pair before - too busy drooling over your Frigidaires, etc.!

Now that they've been drawn to my attention, they're great. And as always, the most mind-boggling level of restoration.

Wow Mark!

I am always amazed at the beautiful condition your machines are in. I hope this machine goes to a home that will give it the love and care you obviously have given it.

So Robert, you did NOT have to restore these two beauties in

applying your legendary wizardry? They came that way. Or am I misreading, too!!!

Thank you, Robert, for such essential information. You saw clearly that I fell in love with Jimmy's Philco, so I guess it's got to be a later model like his for me.

Fellow Philco Seekers: We are all friends in this forum, and I think it would be very exciting and inspiring to know who's bidding. I took the risk and so can you. If it backfires, it will have been my fault, and I'll own up.

Right now, I'm out of the game because 3 grand is beyond my current fiduciaries;'D

MARK.... I wish you an ocean of good luck in your new home, and I can't wait to see it. OH THOSE WINDOWS!!!
