when was the last time you got a full size box of detergent with a new washer purchase?
the most I ever got was a one time use sample, or better yet a coupon, oh the joy to spend $2000.00 on a washer and dryer to enjoy the 50 cent savings, better wait till double coupon day...with a savings like this...I could bank this chump change and book a cruise in no time.....yeah right!

Most of the manufacturers
have slashed warranty coverage, or worse, tied it to the price of the machine. Used to be that every machine, even the BOL had a full year on the entire unit, then 5 years on the "guts," that is on a washer's transmission, or a fridge's sealed compressor/evaporator unit, but not any longer.

Sears for instance offers an extended waranty, at an expensive price for even just a three year policy, which also cancels out the original maufacturers waranty....
I got my newest FL set from a mom and pop dealer, great rebates, and they gave me 100.00 off for buying the set, and their regular prices were cheaper than lowes, homo depot, and sears sale prices...plus I got the extended waranty that takes over after the first year runs out and then it kicks in...it cost 30.00 per year for the set...I bought it for 9 years...which I have a full 10 year waranty....try beating that!....this extended price and coverage is a one time deal to cover one unit or a whole houseful, as long as their all on the same receipt, and you can extend it when it runs out!...try that at many stores, not happening!

My father and grandmother bought a new dryer to replace her old 71 Lady Kenmore that finally took it's last spin, and get this, they had to buy the power cord SEPERATELY! How ridiculous is that? It's like, yeah I want a new dryer but don't plan on using it so the power cord won't be necessary. That's like buying a brand new car and having to by the engine seperately.

As far as i know electric 220v. dryers have never came with the "pigtail". I think the new homes all have the 4 pin/prong plug. and older homes you might have the crowfoot looking one. or the one with one L shaped prong. Are they charging for washer hoses now?
