This is for Kevin of Cavalcade of Food. Today, before the sh*t hit the fan in DC I decided to make this recipe of Kevin’s that I saw on Cavalcade of Food a few weeks ago.
Since the new Dole Pineapple slice cans have a pull top and the inside ridge makes getting the finished Jello out of the can I cut the entire top off with my can opener before I poured in the Jello.
I drained the pineapple juice into a 2 cup Pyrex measuring cup and nuked it for about 2.25 mins until it boiled, put a small box of Orange Jello into the hot juice, stirred well to dissolve, then poured it into the can and refrigerated it until gelled.
Then to unmold, I cut off the bottom of the can, ran a sharp knife around the inside edge of the can to loosen the Jello, and crossed my fingers that it would unmold.
Looks like it will make some nice slices for dessert tonight. Thanks for the recipe Kevin.
