Wow, interesting

design. I have never seen one like this. Looks early/mid 50's??

I wish they had taken some pictures of the top. And the rest of the kitchen before the update. Poor dears, no telling what got ripped out of that place that we in AW would see as a treasure.

we had one in my parents' first tract home

The home was brand new, 1958, and all-electric. I was two when we moved there, so I didn't remember any other type of oven, and didn't even know what a range was!! I simply thought you cook pots and pans on an electric cooktop and you bake in an oven with half-doors.

We moved from that house three years later to a large, stately 1930s house with a white gas range. I thought we were living in the stone age. Mom quickly remodelled the kitchen and added an electric coil cooktop and a double wall oven, both Frigidaire. It was the first time I ever saw an oven with the hinge at the bottom of the full width doors, rather than half doors.

I had friends in the old neighborhood whom I'd visit and most kept the same ovens through at least 1970, and they were still working well. Ours was turquoise blue, NOT pink!

I wonder if

some items sell better in some areas than others.

I have noticed that some particular model items show up more in different areas of the country than others.

I have never seen this item in the Southern states of the U.S.

I still would like to see the top and other views.

You See These...

...In Florida, for some reason. In Sarasota, there are a fair number of mid-century houses that still have their original Frigidaire french door ovens.

So, it's not unheard of for these to be found in the South.

I found my stainless steel model in a thrift store in the 80s in Decatur, GA. For years it sat on top of my KDS 14. The open coil broiler was very fast. When the doors were opened a shield swung out from under the control panel to protect the controls from the heat. Frigidaire wall ovens were the same size as the master oven in the 40" range and mine baked two Bundt cakes perfectly when they were placed back corner, front corner on two racks. The bottom of the oven was a slide out pan which held the plug-out Radiantube bake element so that spills could easily be washed away at the sink. The oven vents are small round holes near the top of each door and emerge under a shield at the top of the doors.
