I am not sure if it would be best to post this here or in Shopper’s Square, but I think more people will see this here in the Super...

I have a coworker whose family moved to Japan in the late 1960s, as his father was a pilot for Japan Airlines. They put many of their household items into climate controlled storage when they moved, including this PINK GE refrigerator. It was all in storage until maybe 8 years ago!

Unfortunately we don’t have a lot of pics to offer just yet, as acces is limited and doesn’t allow the doors to be opened, but the unit works very well and is in excellent condition.

It is available in Charlotte North Carolina. My Coworker needs to clear out the space, but really wants to find someone who would appreciate this fridge. Again, it has chromed lazy Susan shelves, and is pink. We just need to get you some additional pics when he can move it.

If interested, please let me know. Seller will consider offers. Thanks!!

What your friend has there is....

a 1958 General Electric Model BH12-R. If it were the 1957 model it would not have the gray strip on the bottom of the freezer door and it would say Combination on the top left of the fridge door. If it were a 1959 model it would have the shelves that swing out from the right front corner as the Lazy Susan Shelves were last offered in 1958. PAT COFFEY

Same Fridge

Here's the same model, from my personal files.  This one started out pink, in Phoenix, was then purchased by yours truly, shipped to Atlanta, repainted white, and placed in my kitchen.  After a couple of years, she died.

Nana's pink fridge

My Nana and Grandpa built their dream home in 1959 in Lubbock, Texas. All her kitchen appliances were pink GE: double wall ovens, dishwasher, and the fridge was a fancy new-fangled bottom-freezer style. I was a little kid and I loved to pull out the freezer drawer. I can't remember much about the shelves in the fridge, although one or two might have been the lazy susan shelves. I'm not sure but her washer and dryer might have been pink, too.

I do know that washer and dryer were the first she ever had. Previously she did her laundry at a laundromat full of wringer washers. Going there with her is one of my earliest memories.

Nana also had a pink Cadillac, she called it her "pink party car." Needless to say, Nana was really "into" pink. We buried her in in a bright pink outfit, of course.
