Bought the set from Denver, just got here tonight. They look to be in good shape so far. Plan on testing them out tomorrow. I'm sure I will have questions for all. I'm still new to this and learning. I only bought my 1st vintage set in Nov., it is a Maytag a407/dg407. I have to say alot of what I have learned, has been from this site.

Here are the model #'s:
Washer
LMA9920P0
Dryer
LME9920P1
Anyone know the year of this set?

Will post photos when I start testing them out.

Hang on a moment!

Talk to Gordon (Kenmoreguy64) before you test. He'll be able to tell you the best procedure for bringing a KM Belt Drive back to life after a long nap without inadvertently causing damage.

Congratulations,
Dave

Just look at those sharp right angles--dazzling!--and

Fit for a king. Great find. Congrats. Can hardly wait for more.

A BEAUTIFUL SET, UNSURPASSED IN QUALITY, BUILD, LOOKS, AND DESIGN. BUILT AT A TIME WHEN WHIRLPOOL CORPORATION BUILT APPLIANCES TO LAST A LIFETIME, THIS SET IS WHAT?? PROBABLY 45 YEARS OLD?? DO YOU THINK ANY OF THE SHIT THAT IS FOR SALE TODAY WILL LAST 45 YEARS?? MAYBE 4 TO 5 YEARS IF YOU ARE LUCKY.
BEST OF LUCK, AND ENJOY.
MIKE

BEAUTIFUL 1965 WP PAIR

I also have the same pair in white, mine has the suds-miser system and the dryer is gas I do wish it was one of the cool colors. In the mid 1960s WP washers were very good machines but the main bearings and spin tube and seals were usually shot by 8-12 years of age and the machine was junked. The dryers were usually kept a little longer but seldom over 20 years, WP dryers became a lot more durable after 1966 when they attached the blower to the rear of the motor. Any regular TL WP built washer made in the last 10-20 years will far out last any WP from the 1950s-1960s, materials are much better now and quality control is at least five times better now.I am not quite as sure about the machines with electronic controls, many do well but they are very expensive to repair and they often become NLA after just 10 years. Also main bearings and seals on FL washers are still a possible problem although 90% of the failures are caused by poor user habits, cold water, too much fabric softener, too little detergent , no regular use of LCB and not leaving the door open too allow the machine to dry out and stop the corrosion of the spider etc.

I must have been stupid....this is the first set I bought used in 1983, for $150.00, in white, and sold it off for a direct drive Kenmore Limited set in 1986....what was I thinking!

and I would love to have one of those laundry tubs....do they still make them like that?, I have only seen them in laundromats.

That pink set is beautiful....congrats!
