Had to zip down town yesterday, and thought would stop in K-Sears (aka K-Mart) to pick up some laundry and dishwashing things in bluk. Well that idea was soon put to rest.

Shelves were almost bare as a newborns behind! *LOL*

No more of the excellent priviate label liquid oxygen bleach. Only a handful of dishwasher detergents, mainly Cascade gels and powders, along with Finish, but prices were actually more than what one pays at local shops.

Only "Latin" detergent left was "Roma", and Zote soap bars.

Laundry detergent wise almost all shelf space has given over to liquids. Near the end of the aisle are Tide, Arm&Hammer and IIRC Cheer "Bright Clean" in jumbo sizes, but that pretty much as about it.

Left the store empty handed, which is unusal for moi, but couldn't see paying more for the dishwasher products that could be had at my local, and didn't really want or need any Tide powdered detergent, regardless of size.

You know....

I know exactly how you feel. I went to Target a couple of weeks ago and as was depressed at dismal state of the detergent aisle. I can normally always find something "new" to try but this time ( and the time before )nothing! And Target was just the same as your trip to K-Mart; all liquids with a few powders at the very end of the shelf. Very upsetting indeed.

The samething happened at Kroger they are reducing the selection of powder detergents the only he that I could find was Tide he in the large box.Wal-mart has a little more selection so I go there most of the time.If I have to then I am going to start buying detergent powder off of the internet.Becuase all of this liquid sucks.

I am using a "pail" of Kroger brand det. right now it works very well, for whites and light's. I buy liquid tide or gain for dark colored clothes. alr2903

Same thing here at our local WalMarts, Almost nothing in powders anymore - can't even find plain old original scent Tide with bleach. Target has basically no powders anymore either.

I finally found some Cold Water Tide powder - at a Target in another town about 35 miles away from here. I didn't buy it, as I couldn't quite see dropping $14 on a cold water wash product when I never wash in cold water. But it was nice to know it's there.

Target, by the way, has gone downhill in other respects. Still trying to spend the rest of my $50 gift certificate there. So far, haven't seen anything there that I can't live without.
