Beautiful

Pittsburgh was my home for twenty years, and though I have moved to the sticks, I still thrill at the sight. Great shot, and thanks for posting!

P.S. Reminds me of many a pilgrimage to Mount Washington or the West End Overlook on Light-up Night.

Beautiful.......

Yup, thats a purdy picture by cracky !

I used to love flying over all the big cities at night.
When everything is all lit up - it can be breath taking.

What amazed me even more though was when your flying low enough between big cities, especially out in the mid-west and you come acrossed one lone car on the road and just how far out ahead of him the light from his car lights shine. The light looks like it goes out for miles. And yet when your the one driving on that lone road....it dosent appear like that.

I still remember fondly some of the winter scenes I would see over the upper midwest from the air while flying with North Central Airlines back in the day.
We had service from Chicago O'Hare to Grand Rapids, MI. I remember one particular evening we were just coming over land after traversing Lake Michigan just above Benton Harbor. We had started out descent into GRR. The sky was clear and the snow was on the ground and it was probably 0 degrees outside. There was also a full moon that night. The landscape below looked like a Currier & Ives painting. You could see all the farmhouses with smoke coming out of the chimneys, lights on in the windows, and everything was covered with a bright white coat of new snow. it was breathtaking to say the least.
