So all you fly mothers get out there and dance, dance I say

Salt n Pepa's here and we're in effect

What can I say? I love it when people throw out a good 80's so f reference.

Hope to make it...still up in the air with the job right now. I'll check in mid/late May and let you know for sure.

While laundry, washing equipment and good food are still the main focus, new activities are always popping up. The latest, a "Day of Beauty"facial is so relaxing and refreshing. I looked radiant, felt cool and it took years off.

Oh, good cop,

bad cop? They are in front of the Ramrod, where the Al Pacino film "Cruising" had a scene shoot.
None at the "Anvil" though, with it's former glass top tables where one could view a hot Karl, etc.
Then there was Biker Chicks from Mars, and Kill pussycat, Kill.
I was sheltered and innocent in those days. Rocky Horror picture Show and Polyester was as risque' as I knew of.

Oh, my.

The world around me goes crazy, keeping me from AW.ORG for a few weeks...

[IRS 'unfiles' two tax returns and loses two years' worth of extra payments to compensate for freelance work. Thyroid takes a dive, and my city job gets outsourced]

I get a breather and return to find facials and the Village People, NIB vintage Hotpoints, NuTone kitchens and all sorts of craziness.

Never a dull moment around here...

Jim,

I hope you're doing much better! Thyroid problems also run in my family. I've been tested, although it's been years. Since then, none of my annual blood work has shown signs of deficiency or hyper thyroid activity.
My youngest sister has been on medication since puberty for it.
As for jobs, most of my family, both immediate and my siblings were laid of or severed from jobs twice on average between 2005 and 2008.
My neighbor just told me about the facial thing the other day. I had never heard of that. She's hetero and married to boot.
Her husband is working in Germany, so we've been carousing about some.
She got some $2.99 wines for me from trader Joe's yesterday after work, and we had a Margarita. Then she procedes to ask me if I knew what a Cleveland steamroller is.
No, never a dull moment here either. Nice Irish/Italian catholic gal too.

any skating rinks still open in the area.....it would be a Wash-in first!...

local Disco/Dance Club?...

I need to pack my 45's and bring them.....some members have been known to bust a few moves!...

Jerry,

the Chesarena looks like an old Kelly & Cohen store. Ask your mom if you don't remember.
How about Action Industries in Cheswick? They used to sell retail promotional budget and dollar kitchen gadgets and house wares by the shipper tote and pallet.
My company used to buy from them.
I have an Action Industries Yugoslavian lead crystal bowl. Has to be from before the Bosnian war, so at least early 80's if not the 70's. Not worth much, but has history. Pittsburgh culture.
My aunts husband was Czech. He worked for Edgewater steel. They lived up on Railroad street in North Bessemer. You know, Old Leechburgh road, and Universal rd.-Millers lane area. My cousin is still on Regency drive. One set of grand parents are in Plum Creek cemetery.

According to the article, there was a Thorofare supermarket on the lower level, then a Goodwill store, I do remember Kelly and Cohen Appliances and TV.. "You ought to get goin', to Kelly and Cohen!". Edgewater Steel is now a new housing development of McMansions and Townhouses..the othere locations are just a few miles away
