Hi everyone. I have a Maytag A207. This machine was handed down to me by my good friends grandfather. This machine has been in my hands since 2005. May I mention that this machine has gone 37 years without one single repair. I came home on Tuesday night and decided to do my whites. I started the machine and went to go have a cigarette in the garage which is right next to the laundry room. it started filling so I headed out to the garage. When I came back all I heard was nothing. No filling, no nothing. I tried every single setting with no avail. I let it sit for 2 days and still nothing, No fill, no spin, not even a timer click. I am guessing the timer finally went but I am wondering if anyone else has an idea to the problem. ANY input would be oh so greatly appreciated. Thank you so much

Sounds like a bad lid switch. A new lid switch is very cheap. Bypass the lid switch by removing the wires from the lid switch and connecting them together. If any of the machine begins to function, you have found your problem.

Timer.

The timer motor may have failed. If that happened, you can advance the timer manually and the washer will function for whatever the timer is positioned to do.

Lay the hose down to drain the machine, no need to bail.

Thank you all

Yes, first thing I did was check the circuit breaker, everything was fine. If you advance the timer to any part of any cycle it does nothing. It's completely dead. I did not think to check the lid switch though, thanks, I'll get right on it.. stay tuned
