As you all by now know, my Frigidaire front-loader has had a quick-connect coupler added to it to be able to get water from the kithcen faucet, and drain into the sink.

While the diameter of the added drain hose (of the coupler) is a bit smaller than the orignal drain hose, results were satisfactory...unitl now. I did notice even after the orginal length of time needed to drain went up slightly, that it has been taking MUCH longer to drain of late. Similarly, not all the water would be evacuated from the tub [in the allotted time]when the machine would then go into the next phase of the wash cycle programme, refilling for the next rinse.

What to do? I decided surgery was in order.
Made the "slice" a few inches from the coupler itself to be able to patch it later..maybe.

Please overlook the cleanser in the sink. It is part of my anti-cockroach efforts.

Collar stays..yes plural. Two of them.

(oopsie that all-important picture did not get saved).

Here it is all patched and ejecting water at a much better rate of speed.

Added a nipple made of copper tubing, electrical tape and a clamp.

If you have an issue with cockroaches then go to the hardware store Ace or truestar or online and get you some Roach Pruff it will get rid of a whole complex of roaches just with what is used in your apartment.I had a friend that had a horriable infestation of roaches he got that stuff put it out and not only did it get rid of his roaches but it got rid of the neighbors roaches too.He was talking to one of his neighbors and they commented on the blue roaches.Sorry that I got a little off of the subject but that stuff is awsum.

Roaches need food, water and a good massage. Let me explain.

Get rd of their food and they go. Get rid of their water..and they go. Hence the cleanser in the sink and in the garbage can ... repels them out of there assures there is no water/consumable food left.

Roaches also love to have their bodies "touched" and stimulated. This is why that colletion, say, of garbage bags wedged between the refrigerator and the cabinet is a big no-no. They will get into those bags and attempt to sandwich themselves in the nooks and crannies in an effort to get a "massage".

I have been roach-free for many months thanks to diligence and chemical warfare. I have dozens of roach baits around. Those are the type where the roach eats and takes the poison back to the nest. [Found some industrial-strength stuff on sale by the dozen at a close-out junque store]. Also use boric acid mixed with some sugar around my dishes. As a third measure I am able to get into the basement, where I "bomb" it [the can has a latch/lock that allows all of the contents to be sprayed into the room/area] with 4 cans of insecticde at a time.

Don't allow the exterminator in [they are way too iberal witht eh spary of carcinogens/posions, but I have been known to place Andrew Jackson (a twenty-spot) in his hand and take him to the basment to spray UP.

Despite turd-world refugees living below me, the problem appears to have disappeared. Don't know what their level of hygiene/sanitation is, but attacking from above and below one assumes their place is now vermin-free as well.

Thanks for the tip!
