I'm not positive but wondering if this is one of,if not the actual ,last of the AMC Kelvinator washers? I remember my reaction at Pollack Blums,a well known furniture and appliance dealer that bit the dust around 1980,when I saw the new models they were putting out for display. They had a filter pan on top of the hourglass style, bladed, oscilating agitator in a perferated, porcelain on steel tub with six ribs.I was horified and wondered why they changed it. When I heard Mr. Jay Stewart of Let's Make a Deal describing a set they were giving a contestant,I heard him say,"Kelvinator, one of the White Consolidated Industries." ,I called my friend, Charlie Rudolf of Rudolf's Appliance and he told me about the merge of Gibson,Easy,Kelvinator and Hamilton. Not too long after that,Westinghouse and Frigidaire were brought into the mix.Who would have ever thought they would all become one?
