This TOL 1960 GE set is my all time favorite of the GE line. It was the last of the solid tub machines, which were my favorite and it was a very attractive looking set too. Wasn't too crazy about the bleach dispenser, since people tended to get the bleach on and around the outside of it causing corrosion to the machine. I preferred to add bleach to the machine directly to the tub and avoid any possible spillage.

I am assuming the user "measured" the amount in the little window and it was automatically added as a timed-release endeavor.

What if you didn't want bleach in a load, how did you do that. Does the lever go down all the way so no bleach is added?

I, too liked the 1957-60 GE FF washers. Don't know why they couldn't retain the 68SPM agitation when they switched to a perforated tub. I personally never cared for spiral-vane agitators.
But, that's just me.

Does the lever go down all the way so no bleach is added?</blockquote> I believe the procedure is pump the lever multiple times until the sight-window indicates the desired dose is loaded-to-go from the filled reservoir (maybe 1/4 cup per pump?).  Don't pump the lever if bleach is not desired.
