Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

It would look just like this Tom, there was a Laundromat in Fort Lauderdale that had Blackstone coin-op washers from the early 1970's when I was in high school there in 1978.

Looking into tub

1. The lint filter is missing; it would have snapped into the opening at the left.
2. There is a "curtain" installed around the inner perimeter of the top; this was a later update, to cut down on splashing.
3. The agitator cap in later years was plastic. This metal one was rather heavy, unnecessarily so, and would chip the tub when you inevitably dropped it.
4. If the user did not remove the agitator regularly from the splined drive block, which was made out of diecast, the only way to remove it was a good old hacksaw.
