I believe it has been established that the Zenith was a Beam-made washer. Who made these dryers, please? Was it Beam? Does anyone know if the Zenith dryer had the same door-mounted lint screen as the early-50s Speed Queens? Earlier, the SQ dryers shared a design with APEX with the glass circular window in the door.

A customer on my second paper route had just bought a new GE washer when I went by one day to collect. The mother and both daughters were gathered around it, just inside the kitchen door debating about how to add bleach. At the time, we had a Filter Flo. I said that you could pour the diluted bleach into the filter pan while it was agitating, but the mother said that the book stated not to add bleach to the filter pan. I tried, unsuccessfully, to help them see the difference between adding bleach before the machine started agitating and when it was agitating at normal speed and recirculating water, but no, she stopped the machine, removed the filter pan, poured in the bleach, put it back together and then restarted the washer thinking it was safer. I was sorry that I had not seen the Zenith before it died. The Norge gas dryer was in the utility room off the double carport so I saw it often. It was actually the model I now have in electric.

Tom,

While I don't know the answer to your question about the dryer, I did notice that the dryer appears to have an opening/door/access panel at the top center of the console.  I wondered it that was the lint filter when I saw the pics.
