This Hotpoint washer was middle of the line and typical of the machines Hotpoint was making in the 60's and 70's. They did an adequate job of washing, rinsing and spinning clothes. They were not outstanding, but did the job. Somewhere around the time this washer was made, Hotpoint started using GE clones for the matching dryers. Hotpoint was one of the precious few that had an entire porcelain enamel cabinet on their washers up until the end of production of this design. That all changed in the mid 70's when they became GE clone washers in addition to the dryers.

Waiting for the clothes to roll-over was like watching for a pot of water to boil.
I had a friend whose folks had a Penncrest version. It lasted forever and washed for a large family. Never would have guessed.
