From my understanding, this Norge front loader was built by Bendix in the late 40's to very early 50's before Norge made their own top load machines. I have never actually seen one of these machines before.

Does anybody

in the club here have one of these??? I still remember when I was 10 years old looking through the consumer reports that were posted here and I believe the 1951 report had this machine in it. I have wondered about it ever since.

It looks reasonably well built, being front load without sensors it had to be, I guess. There has to be at least one that survived, heck we know of at least 2 Launderalls in existance!

"Extract"

I love how Norge/Wards was the only manufacturer to use the word "Extraction and/or Extract" instead of "spin." My '75 Wards dial reads "Ext." for the first spin, and "Spin" for the final one. Interesting that this early model boasts 18-lb capacity -- unheard of until the 1960s as far as I know...
