Easy Solid Tub Washer
WOW you can see the lengths they went to to try to keep small clothing items out of the outer tub and water pump. I think that they knew how fast it would burn out the crummy Westinghouse motors these washers used if a sock got jammed in the directly driven water pump.
Can you imagine the stinky mess that big plastic screen in the outer tub would get in a washer today with all the non-phosphate detergents washing in cold water, LOL.
Cool Washer though.

I had one of these at one point in time. It was a very good machine and the only reason I got rid of it was because of ignorance in my youth and not digging deeper into finding what the problem was with it. Apparently there must be a coupling, much like the Whirlpool direct drive machines, that connects the motor to the transmission that must have broken. When it quit working at all, other than the motor running, I pitched it.
